MHI Solutions recently published an article about warehouse and DC automation. John Paxton reached out to top industry experts, including St. Onge Company’s Bryan Jensen, for their opinions on the subject. Bryan discussed common mistakes people make when upgrading their systems.
“Do not assume that as long as you get it up and running a month before your peak season, you’ll be fine,” Jensen said. “You need time to work the bugs out, both in the systems themselves and in the means by which your operation uses the systems. Like any other tool, you need to learn how to use it. You need to bring these systems online at least three months in advance of your peak season if you want to increase your chances of success.”
