Supply Chain World Volume 8 features an article about the successes of the Supply Chain team at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) during the pandemic and beyond. We’re excited to continue working with CHOP’s expert Supply Chain team to develop strategies that enable more patient access and care.
St. Onge Company has been a proud partner of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia helping them to assess, evaluate, design and implement their industry leading Consolidated Services Center (CSC). 3 years ago, CHOP began to realize the Supply Chain leadership’s long term vision of a consolidated location beginning with a system-wide support services assessment to determine the feasibility of a CSC. This assessment looked beyond just a warehouse to include supply chain, sterile processing, food and nutrition, bed management, linen, clinical engineering, computer repair, call centers, and facilities. Through the use of a detailed business case, the supply chain team and the other support service teams were able to identify significant improvement opportunities for the network.
St Onge is supporting CHOP in the midst of design and planning their Service and Logistics Center (SLC) with a go-live planned in mid-2022. They are committing the necessary resources to make the SLC a reality and will be the first CSC in the country to provide centralized services for supply chain, sterile processing, food and nutrition, bed management, environmental services, linen, clinical engineering, IT/IS and facilities. CHOP is also embarking on a shared service model to maximize the use of supply chain services to manage all inventory across the network for all departments within the CSC. It is an exciting time at CHOP and we look forward to impacting the healthcare industry through project and operations success.
