St. Onge Helps DLA Build First Fully Automatic Shipping System

St. Onge is pleased to have completed Phase 1, Simulation, Phase 2, and ongoing Phase 3 work at DLA Distribution Susquehanna. The 1.8 million sq.ft. facility is the most strategic asset for the Defense Logistics Agency. This is the first step in DLA’s modernization journey at Susquehanna.

The remaining implementation work is currently underway and will take several years to complete. We’re proud to have overcome the unique challenges and barriers presented throughout the procurement and implementation phases, including the specialized Print and Apply Conveyor System. We’re excited to start modernization efforts for 11 buildings and 2.6 million sq.ft. at the same site.

“Projects like this and the larger overall EDC modernization will ensure DLA remains relevant and at the forefront of providing better, faster and more cost effective support to the warfighter,” said Army Col. Trent Conner, DLA Distribution Susquehanna commander.

Installation of the over $3 million DAWS system is the first step of the larger $200 million EDC modernization project, currently in the works. The modernization project aims to bring the EDC up to industry-leading standards to operate more efficiently and effectively by leveraging best practices, innovative solutions and technologies to improve warfighter readiness.
